This soft pastel painting is of my late Grandfather. I really wanted to make his vibrant character come to life in the drawing. By using soft pastel, I was able to use an array of colors to bring the portrait alive. Many unexpected colors such as purple and green are actually used throughout the painting. My grandfather practically raised me so this painting is very significant to me. This painting won a high merit award by “Celebrating Arts Competitions”
